Woodleigh is a dynamic and creative environment, set apart from the educational norm by our unique delivery of learning programs. We see ourselves as a progressive, contemporary School, one that delivers a forward-thinking curriculum, educating students for their future, not our past. We spend an enormous amount of time and effort ensuring that our learning programs are individually crafted to meet specific student needs. And, that the programs we create are well-rounded challenging students academically, socially and emotionally.
At Woodleigh School, we believe that great education is more than just an excellent academic preparation for the future. A great education equips a student with life skills “resilience and independence" developed through an extensive Camps and Activities Program. It provides an understanding of service, the building of a strong moral and ethical base, and the desire to make a contribution to the broader community. It's the ability to be able to laugh at oneself and with others, to have fun as often as possible and to work hard and give your best effort to everything that you do.
These wider learning experiences work to develop the strong relationships that exist between students and staff. There is a collegiate atmosphere here at Woodleigh which underpins the supportive learning environment that is such a feature of our School. I invite you to visit us. Come and see first-hand our experiential learning programs in action and tour the beautiful natural environment that is Woodleigh School.
At Woodleigh’s Early Childhood Centre, the most important part of our program is the child. Children are at the centre of everything that happens here: the teaching, the activities and the environment.
The Prep to Year 4 curriculum at our Minimbah campus is dynamic, engaging and tailored to suit the individual needs, differences and interests of every student. The Year 5/6 Homestead is a mindful learning community that encourages the development of independence and personal responsibility.
The middle years are a time of great change, challenge and growth for all students. At Woodleigh these are years where students grow as individuals, develop their own interests and talents, and face and overcome all manner of educational and social hurdles unique to their age and peer groupings.
The senior years at Woodleigh are the business end, where our unique curriculum of increasing leadership, responsibility and independence prepares students for success in their VCE studies and in life beyond school. At senior level, balance between academic and co-curricular studies is maintained through the continuing Homestead and Activities (to Year 11) Programs. Leadership opportunities abound in all areas of school life, and all students are encouraged to participate, be it through, sport, Service, Homestead, Activities or other co-curricular programs.
