Oxley Christian College was founded in 1979 with two key objectives: to achieve the highest academic standards and to do so within a non-denominational, distinctively Christian environment. Still deeply committed to its founding principles, Oxley is widely recognised both for the excellence of its teaching and for the outstanding academic performance of its Year 12 students, of whom the majority gain entry each year into the university programs of their choice.
Oxley commitment to excellence is seen in all aspects of school life. Our team of enthusiastic, dedicated teachers seeks to meet the educational needs of all students. Students are encouraged in the development of Christian faith and values, sound study habits, leadership skills and a desire to serve their community.
At Oxley, Christian values are integrated into every facet of College life. Central to an Oxley education is promoting the understanding of diverse cultures, compassion, strategic thinking and an expansive world view relevant to the 21st century. Oxley is known internationally and attracts many students from around the world. Their presence assists all students with an understanding of other cultures and global issues. A wealth of opportunities encourages students to become discerning thinkers.
An exciting Early Learning program provides Pre-School and Prep students with sound educational foundations. The Junior School provides strong, sequential programs of Literacy and Numeracy, Integrated Studies, Sciences, SOSE, Chinese, Christian Studies, Music, Art, Drama, Health, PE and Sport. In the Senior School, Years 7 to 10 students are involved in a diverse program, engaging all students in learning which encourages academic rigour and involvement in a wealth of activities. In Years 11 and 12, a wide range of VCE studies prepares students for entry to all tertiary courses.
